Welsh road race event Brecon August 4th &5th

Road racing will return to the UK mainland in 2018 with an all new road race set for the 4/5th August 2018 in the Brecon Beacons. For motorcycling enthusiasts this is the start of a regular event which will grow with each passing year.

The Welsh Road Race event is the brainchild of a number of key players within the road racing fraternity including Derek Smith (Chairman of Aberdare Park and General Secretary of East South Wales ACU) and Phil Morris (Businessman, team manager and owner of Oswestry Road Racing Museum).

The circuit itself is a dramatic and undulating 5.25 mile lap located North West of Brecon in Wales. The entire circuit, access roads and surrounding area is all MOD owned meaning that the road itself is in excellent condition and there are no white lines, cats eyes and very limited signposts or road furniture.

Unlike other areas, there are no obstacles to hit like lamp posts etc so your fun is guaranteed without safety concerns. Initially starting as a two day event, it is hoped that a 4 or 5 day event can be arranged.

If you're looking for accommodation, then The Draen bed and breakfast comes highly recommended, with secure storage for your motorcycles, a decent breakfast and beautiful views across to the Black Mountains, this is the perfect place to stay. Brecon town centre is only 10 minutes away and we have a choice of three lovely rooms of which one is a suite. Why not contact us today as accommodation may be in short supply for the Race duration.

Fairy house at The Draen

We're pleased to announce some new accommodation at The Draen for all those that are under 12 inches. Fairies, Elves and Pixies are all welcome in the new home Johnny has built for them.

Seriously though, it makes for a great photo opportunity and the little ones will love it.

Black Redstart

A welcome visit from one of our feathered friends

Johnny was lucky enough to see a Black Redstart in our lane twice last week. We have seen them before in Tredomen, but never here in Llanfilo. Would be lovely to think they are raising a family.
